Sexual Health is an often neglected aspect of medicine in our country. Physical, Mental and Sexual health affects the well-being of an individual and society.

Hormonal disorders can contribute to sexual dysfunctions. In fact some hormonal disorders manifest as sexual symptoms which are often neglected for long due to social taboo and lack of awareness. Psychological and relationship issues from the bulk of sexual dysfunctions.

Recently drug-induced and stress-induced sexual problems are increasingly being manifested. Male infertility is usually manifested as lack of secondary sexual characters, gynecomastia (breast development in males) or sperms abnormalities. Female sexual dysfunctions (FSD) is another neglected field of medicine. Although most common cause is a psychological or relationship issue, local, drug-induced or hormonal causes need to be ruled out.

Hence in a couple approaching with infertility, all these causes need to be sought and addressed before a reproductive endocrinologist decides on artificial reproductive techniques (ART).
